FAQ
Q. My child has never wrestled before. Which program should they join?
A. No, many first year wrestlers (ages 5-7) are encouraged to join our Developmental Club Lv1. There, we will teach and cover the basics of tumbling and general wrestling techniques.
Our Novice Club Lv2 (ages 7-11) is intended for first and second year wrestlers who are looking for an introduction to the sport or are looking to improve in their fundamentals.
Q. What is the difference between Novice and Competition?
Novice (Lv2) focuses on developing fundamentals and preparing newer wrestlers.
Competition (Lv3) is for wrestlers who are ready for more advanced instruction and competition. Coaches may recommend moving a wrestler between groups based on development and the roster.
Q. Does my child have to compete in tournaments?
No. Wrestlers can participate in practices without competing. Coaches may recommend waiting to compete until a new wrestler is comfortable and ready.
Q. What equipment does my wrestler need?
For practice, wrestlers should wear athletic clothing, wrestling shoes, headgear, and bring a water bottle. Headgear is required during practice. Please avoid clothing with zippers, buttons, or anything that could catch during wrestling.
